Migrating an **Commerce MySQL Database from Amaz** EC**to Amazon RDS: A Hands-On AWS Pro**ct
Real-World Problem
As online businesses grow, managing databases on self-hosted servers becomes increasingly difficult. This project demonstrates how I designed an e-commerce database, hosted MySQL on an Amazon EC2 instance, and later migrated the database to Amazon RDS to improve scalability, availability, and operational efficiency.
Project Scenario
An e-commerce company called ShopSphere operates an online marketplace selling electronics, clothing, and home appliances.
The company currently hosts its MySQL database on an EC2 instance. Due to increasing customer traffic and operational overhead, the company wants to migrate the database to Amazon RDS MySQL while maintaining performance and minimizing downtime.
